About Kimberly
Kimberly is a passionate and dedicated Birth and Postpartum Doula committed to supporting women through one of the most transformative and powerful experiences of their lives—birth.
Hello, my name is Kimberly! When I’m not serving as a doula, I’m usually spending time with family & friends, caring for my fur babies, traveling, or enjoying some of my favorite hobbies like playing tennis or dancing.
Throughout my life, I have always been inspired by the women around me, especially my mother, who worked in the hospital, assisting midwives. It was no surprise that, at a young age, I began telling people I wanted to become an OB/GYN. Determined to make this dream a reality, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. After graduation, I became a Public Health Fellow for the CDC, working for the Division of Adolescent and School Health.
After my fellowship, I was eager to work in women's health. That’s when a friend introduced me to doula work. At the time, I wasn’t familiar with what a doula was, but after doing some research, I discovered that the role of a doula is to provide educational, physical, and emotional support to mothers and their families throughout pregnancy. I was immediately inspired by this mission and knew it was the perfect fit for me. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I would fall in love with the field so deeply that I would trade my childhood dream of becoming an OB/GYN for a new aspiration—to serve my community as a doula.
I went on to complete Birth and Postpartum Doula training with DONA International and became certified as a Community Health-Based Doula and Perinatal Patient Navigator through Morehouse College. I also became certified as a Pregnancy Health Coach through AFPA. After completing my training, I began volunteering with Embrace Birth, a non-profit organization that provides doula support to refugee women in the Metro Atlanta area.
Now, I am a proud member of the North Atlanta Birth Services team! What drives me as a birth support professional is my commitment to eliminating the maternal health crises in America—one woman at a time. I believe that doulas play a crucial role in bridging the gap between patients and the healthcare system. By empowering women with the knowledge and support they need, we can create healthier, more positive birth experiences.
As a doula, I am truly fulfilled by the lasting impact I make in the lives of my clients. I believe that healthy mothers lead to healthy babies, which create healthy families and, ultimately, a healthier society. My goal is to provide each family with a nurturing and empowering experience as they bring their little ones into the world.
Together, we can achieve more positive birth outcomes—one family at a time.
