Brittney+Tara
Meet one of our doula duos Brittney and Tara.
Brittney Christian: Birth Doula and Prenatal and Pediatric Chiropractor. Brittney has a huge passion for all things birth. She decided late in her undergrad career that she would attend chiropractic school, and it was there that she fell in love with a holistic lifestyle and all things natural. Working with pregnant mama’s and their little ones is a true passion for Brittney and it’s what puts a smile on her face every single day. In addition to that she also is a trained childbirth educator and placenta encapsulation specialist. It is her goal to empower, support and educate families in this amazing journey.
Tara Thompson: Birth and Postpartum Doula, Prenatal, Postpartum, and Infant Massage Therapist, Evidence Based Birth Childbirth Educator. She is also certified in lymphatic massage so that she can continue to help her clients after any method of birth, including surgery. Tara is a New York native, but she moved to Georgia with her family in 2005. Ever since then, she has been fully dedicated to serving prenatal and postpartum families in the North Metro Atlanta Area. From education, prenatal care, labor, and postpartum support, Tara can help you achieve success! Focusing on women's health and specializing in pregnancy and postpartum!
How Doula Teams Work:
Did you know when you hire us, you get not just one but TWO certified birth doulas on your birth support team?
We believe in supporting not only birthing families in a meaningful and impactful way so that they can have the best possible chance at having the birth they desire and deserve but we also co-doula so that we can have sustainable, effective, and long-lasting careers as doulas and members of our birth community. With two doulas as part of your birth support team, you will receive:
2x the support
2x the knowledge
2 different perspectives
2 different sets of experiences
Built in back-up doula who you are already familiar with.…all brought together to provide you with all the informational, emotional, and physical support you need to help you navigate your unique path to giving birth.
Our goal is to instill strength and reduce fear so that you can feel empowered to have a safe, healthy, and satisfying birth experience.
From the time of hire through 12-weeks postpartum, you will have two doulas available to you via phone, text, email, and Voxer (walkie-talkie communication app) plus two prenatal meetings, plus continuous in-person support during your birth.
For your birth, we share a call schedule — we alternate being on-call for you in the weeks surrounding your estimated due date. This keeps us feeling rested, connected, and supported in our personal lives so that we come into your birth with the energy, passion, and the support you deserve!
We are DEDICATED to this work and to serving our doula families.
