Postpartum Planning Class

It is common and normal to focus a lot of time and energy on planning for the birth of your baby, but what happens once you get home? Your body goes through tremendous physical and emotional changes that all allow for the birth of your baby to occur. No matter the type of birth you have, you will need and want to prioritize rest, nutrition, and self-care after the birth of your baby.

Sounds easy right?

Well, from personal and professional experience, we have learned this is way easier said than done.

Why is this important?

Postpartum often hits us harder in the face than we expected. It's often described as more difficult than labor because we aren't prepared for the difficulties, and we underestimate how much a sweet, tiny baby can disrupt our daily lives. We need more help than we anticipate, and we have more everyday responsibilities than we realize. Having someone to walk you through on what to expect, and how to navigate this uncertain time, can make this new period of your life a lot more manageable.

Creating a plan takes time, and with guidance, you will know the areas of your life with potential challenges. You will be asked the right questions, so you can identify where you will need help most, and to make sure that you have the adequate help you truly need.

Learning how to create a plan for self care and time with your partner that lasts beyond the postpartum is vital because your baby will always be there. It can take some creativity, but you can find time to take off your "parent" hats and pour into yourself and each other. Setting these habits now will help you thrive during this time instead of just survive.

Friends and family are important and have a crucial role during this time, but having a trained professional who knows the things you may not know about postpartum recovery, health, and wellness is invaluable.

What will you gain?
