About Lex

Lex is a birth and postpartum doula with a passion for helping families navigate their birth and postpartum journeys in their own unique way. She believes in the importance of doula support because she had one birth with a doula, then due to covid, had a birth without one. As you read her bio, her passion emanates through her words.

Hey y’all! I’m Alexis Lockett, but please just call me Lex! Born and raised in GA. I’m a mama of two littles and a wife to the most handsome guy! I’m obsessed with all things motherhood, especially pregnancy, birth and postpartum. When I’m not in the birthing space or loving on postpartum families I love spending time with family and friends, being creative, and lifting weights!

I knew I wanted to become a doula after the birth of my daughter. The best gift I ever received was my doula. A family friend that absolutely changed my life, saved my daughter’s life and taught me there’s so much more to life! When I “hired” my doula I wasn’t even sure what a doula did. I quickly learned they’re worth their weight in gold and drastically change the entire experience of pregnancy and childbirth! I become a birth nerd immediately. I read all the things and was constantly consuming information about birth. Then I got pregnant with my second child, my baby boy. I didn’t know just how special it was to have a doula (though I thoroughly appreciated her) until I wasn’t able to have her during his birth in the middle of COVID19. I felt my purpose and my calling in life there. To advocate relentlessly so women could have support they need and deserve no matter the circumstances. Now, I am absolutely in love with being a doula and supporting other women on the journey to becoming the mom they were meant to be!

As a doula, I deeply believe that birth is a physiological and natural biological process, and my role is to support and empower women, no matter the choices they make for their birth experience. I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental space where families can feel informed and confident in their decisions.

I offer guidance and emotional support throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, ensuring that each family feels heard, supported and respected. My approach is rooted in informed consent, ensuring that every parent feels fully equipped with knowledge to make decisions that align with their values. Whether in a hospital, birthing center, or home birth, I aim to create a positive and empowering experience for every family I work with.

Client testimonial:

“Hiring Lex for the birth of my second child was one of the best decisions I made. After my first birth experience left me feeling unsupported and unsure, I knew I wanted someone who was there just for me—someone who could offer guidance and reassurance without judgment. Lex was exactly that. She never pushed any kind of agenda or made me feel like my choices weren’t ‘right.’ Whether it was the medical interventions I wanted or the way I chose to labor, she supported me fully and without hesitation. Her presence was calm, steady, and empowering, and she helped me feel in control during a time that can often feel overwhelming. I can’t thank her enough for making this birth such a positive and empowering experience. If you are looking for someone who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly invested in your birth journey, I wholeheartedly recommend her!” - Jocelyn
